summary | The Full Data Monthly Product is of much higher accuracy compared to the GPCC near real-time products mentioned above. Therefore, its application is recommended for hydrometeorological model verification and water cycle studies, e.g. in context of UNESCO, GEWEX, and GTN-H (Global Terrestrial Network for Hydrology). This analysis product is based on all stations, near real-time and non real-time, in the GPCC data base supplying data for the individual month. The GPCC Full Data Monthly Product Version 2022 covers the period from 1891 to 2020 ; this new extended product version using the new GPCC climatology as analysis background was generated in May 2022. The data coverage per month varies from less than 20,000 to more than 52,000 stations. The full data re-analyses will be updated at irregular time intervals subsequent to significant data base improvements. |

aux_summary | This is the GPCC Monitoring Product of monthly global land-surface precipitation based on the station database (SYNOP, CLIMAT) available via the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) at the time of analysis (2 months after end of an analysis month). This product contains the monthly totals on a regular latitude/longitude grid with a spatial resolution of 1.0 x 1.0 . Interpolation is made on the anomalies from the GPCC Precipitation Climatology V2022 in the corresponding resolutions (DOIs: dx.doi.org/10.5676/DWD_GPCC/Clim_M_V2022_100). The temporal coverage of the dataset ranges from January 1982 until the month for which GTS data (SYNOP and CLIMAT) is available, i.e. 2 months after end of the analysis month due. The GPCC Monitoring Product is the in situ component to the satellite-gauge combined precipitation analyses of the Global Precipitation Climatology Product (GPCP) and the CPC Merged Analysis of Precipitation (CMAP).
